(001)▪︎[ Good Neighbor … 2025 ]

What makes a good neighbor?

[ A Good Neighbor Usually Leaves You Alone ]

[ He Doesn’t Invade Your Privacy ]

[ By Using A Drone ] …

[ When You Drive By Him While He Is Working In His Yard ]

[ He Waves Because He Is Friendly & Nice ]

[ During The Winter, He Works Really Hard ]

[ Using His Shovel On The Sidewalk, Clearing Away The Snow & The Ice ] …

[ He Barbecues All Year Long ]

[ & It Smells Really Good ]

[ He Knows That He Can’t Go Wrong ]

[ When He Barbecues For The Whole Neighborhood ] …

[ He Is Generous To A Fault ]

[ When You Knock On His Door ]

[ To Ask Him For Some Sugar Or Salt ] …

[ He Keeps His Eye On Your Property Whenever You & Your Family Are Out Exploring Other Towns ]

[ When You Meet Him ]

[ You Would Definitely Agree With His Pronoun’s ] …

[ He Is Just One Regular Guy ]

[ He Won’t Ever Steal Your Mail Or Newspaper ]

[ & He Bakes A Wonderful Apple Pie ] …

[ Everyone Around You Lives A Quiet & Comfortable Life ]

[ They Are Nice To Your Kids ]

[ & Nobody Tries To Covet Your Wife ] …

[ A Good Neighbor Will Always Care ]

[ If They Happen To Buy The Winning Megabucks Ticket, They Better Share ]

[ Because If They Won’t ]

[ You Will Become Their Worst Kind Of Nightmare! ] …

[ A Worst Neighbor They Would Never Find ]

[ Because You Would Become The Kind ]

[ That Would Mess With Their Mind ] …

[ As A Neighborly Rule ]

[ Nobody Will Treat You Like A Fool ]

[ When They Come To Their Senses & Start To Share, Then Everything Would Go Back To Being Cool ]

  1. Lopaka, your poem starts with generosity and surveillance in balance – then veers into extortion when fortune tilts. That turn reveals something honest: neighbourliness hinges on felt fairness, not virtue. When reciprocity breaks, resentment fills the gap – suddenly we’re minding their minds rather than minding our hedges. Good neighbours tend toward equanimity, not scorecards.

    1. I Understand What You Are Saying, I Was Just Trying To Add Something Funny To The Situation. I Do Not Keep A Scorecard. My Wife & I Have Been Here For (18) Years Now & We Are The Newbies. Thank You For Pointing Things Out For Me.
