[ Emotional Pain Hurts Clear Down To The Last Letter ]
[ When The Pain Is Physical ]
[ You Can Put A Band-Aid On The Pain & You Feel So Much Better ]
[ & It’s Visible ]
[ Some Part Of You Felt Different During Your Walk ]
[ In The Park ]
[ Most People Would Have Balked ]
[ Because The Night Sky Was So Dark ]
[ But Were You Looking To Talk? ]
[ Did Mother Nature Have Something Brewing? ]
[ Was There A Storm Ensuing ]
[ Would It Have Been Assuming ]
[ If You Thought That This Storm Would Be All Consuming? ]
[ Raining Dogs & Cats ]
[ When You & Your Dog Were Out Walking ]
[ You Noticed That No One Was Wearing Any Rain Hats ]
[ While Groups Huddled Together & Were Talking ]
[ Would They Be Singing The Blues ]
[ If It Started Raining So Hard ]
[ The Water Started Getting Into Their Shoes ]
[ All Because No One Paid Attention To The Weather Forecast ]
[ During Last Night’s Local News? ]
[ You Said, “Hello” As You Walked By The First Group, Even Though A Few Of Them Were Attached To Their Phone ]
[ Then It Started Pouring ]
[ That Was When You Noticed A Woman Standing All Alone ]
[ She Was Standing Under A Cover Beneath A Tall Pole With A Light ]
[ When She Looked Your Way ]
[ Her Deep Crystal Blue Eyes, Were Quite ]
[ The Sight ]
[ You Smiled @ Her & Something Quietly Came Undone ]
[ Was It The War Inside Your Chest That You’ve Never Won ]
[ If You Walked Up, & Said, “Hello” ]
[ Would She Take Off & Run? ]
[ You Walked Towards Her, Kind Of Slow ]
[ What If She Had A Gun? ]
[ You Took A Chance, Because You Did Not Know ]
[ When You Calmly Began To Talk, Her Blue Eyes Began To Fill With Tears ]
[ You Could Not Figure Out How A Woman That Was So Young ]
[ Could Have So Many Long Lasting Fears ]
[ You (2) Had Only Just Met ]
[ You Failed To Understand ]
[ What She Thought That She Would Get ]
[ Could This Be A Demand ]
[ Of Some Upcoming Debt? ]
[ You Used All Of Your Willpower ]
[ To Stand & Listen To Her ]
[ For Over An Hour ]
[ But How Would This Conversation End? ]
[ Were You Saying Anything That You Would Later Need To Defend? ]
[ You Wanted To Play This Cool ]
[ There Was A Tearful Woman Standing Directly In Front Of You ]
[ You Did Not Want To Add Any Fuel ]
[ Or Drop Some Kind Of Clue ]
[ That You Had No Idea What To Do? ]
[ You Knew What Would Cause The Tension To Be Cut In ½ ]
[ If Only You Could Say Something ]
[ To Get Her To Laugh ]
[ About Anything ]
[ Inconsequential ]
[ Nothing Absurd Or Delusional ]
[ It Could Even Be Something Questionable ]
[ But Nothing Rude ]
[ Or Lewd ]
[ You Live In A Society That Is So Litigious ]
[ You Don’t Want To Ever Get Sued ]
[ Suing People Can Get Contagious ]
[ When It Is A “He Said, She Said” Situation, The Man Always Gets Screwed! ]
[ That Was When You Learned That Her Laughter Became Your New Favorite Song ]
[ She Thought Her Laugh Was Kind Of Corny ]
[ You Never Thought You Heard Anything Wrong ]
[ Unless You Were Hearing Her Poorly ]
[ As The Rain Kept Coming ]
[ You Stayed To Listen To Her ]
[ Should You Take Off Running? ]
[ You Seemed So Unsure ]
[ But Then Your Back Started To Cramp ]
[ You Both Took The Conversation To The Bench ]
[ Under The Street Lamp ]
[ Her Voice Was So Easy On Your Ears ]
[ She Was Talking About Some Of Her Fears ]
[ You Wished You Could Help Her With Her Tears ]
[ You Sat There & Talked For Hours ]
[ You Even Outlasted The Rain Showers ]
[ It Was No Surprise ]
[ That You Talked Long Enough To See The Sun Start To Rise ]
[ You Have Not Had This Long Of A Talk With A Stranger, Ever ]
[ When We Got Up To Part Ways, She Asked, “Will You Forget About Me?” ]
[ You Looked Her In The Eyes & Said, “Never!” ]
