[ The Voice From The Other Room Was Faint To The Ear ]
[ What It Softly Said ]
[ Was Not Clear ]

[ The Voice Was Calm ]
[ As It Cried Out For Its Mom ]

[ I Could Not Tell If It Was A Young Girl Or Boy ]
[ It Almost Sounded Like It Was Coming From A Toy ]

[ I Played The Scenario Again & Again In My Head ]
[ I Wondered If It Came From A Small Animal Instead ]

[ All Of A Sudden It Seemed Like Something Sucked All Of The
     Air Out Of The Room ]
[ The Drop In The Temperature ]
[ Made It Feel Like We Were Sitting In An Old Mummy’s Tomb ]

[ There Seemed To Be A Big Problem ]
[ Because The Floor Boards Would Creak ]
[ When They Did Not Have Anything Walking Across Them ]

[ The Windows Had Frosted Over Days Ago ]
[ It Happened So Slow ]
[ It Normally Would Not Show ]

[ There Are Cracks In Some Windows That I Did Not Notice The
     Other Day ]
[ Nobody Knew Anything ]
[ Nobody Would  Say ]

[ Even Though My Caregiver Would Sweep Everyday, There
     Always Seemed To Be Dust Everywhere ]
[ The Dust Was Swept Up Yesterday ]
[ I Swear ]

[ The Wind Comes In Through The Cracks ]
[ In The Wood ]
[ When It Chills Our Backs ]
[ That Does Not Feel Very Good ]

[ In The Middle Of The Night, I Hear Noises That Cannot Be
     Explained ]
[ I Have Found, From Past Experiences, That It Does No Good To
     Complain ]

[ The Dark Night ]
[ Plays With My Sight ]
[ Because When It Is Completely Black Outside ]
[ I See Flashes Of Light ]

[ Sometimes My Brain Feels Lost ]
[ The T.V. Flickers ]
[ Long After The Power Was Turned Off ]

[ Voices Whisp Around The Room Like They Are Riding On The
     Wind ]
[ Should This Story End ]
[ Like It Begins? ]
