[ There Have Been (2) That Come To Mind ]

[ The First Promise Was When You Were In (8th) Grade ]

[ You Went Over To A Friend’s House ]

[ He Already Had A Friend There, But No Parents To Be Found, Since It Was The Summer ]

[ Well They Both Started Drinking & Smoking On Someone’s Bong ]

[ Well, Within The Hour They Started Acting Obnoxious & Like Fools ]

[ You Just Got Up & Went Home Thinking That Doing Drugs & Drinking Was Stupid ]

[ You Made The Promise To Yourself That You Would NOT Touch Alcohol Or Drugs Until After You Turned (18yrs) Old & Graduated High School ]

[ During High School You Still Went To The Regular Weekend Parties ]

[ But You Kept Your Promise To Yourself By Being One Of The Very Few To Walk Around Sipping Coke Out Of A Can & Staying Sober ]

[ There Was Alot Of Peer Pressure To Break Your  Promise ]

[ You Did Not Try Anything Until You Went To College ]

[ So You Kept Your Promise ]

[ You Did Go To The Parties For The First (2yrs) Then Did Not Touch Another Drop For (10) More Years ]

[ Then You Got Really Drunk @ Your Bachelors Party A Week Before Your Wedding ]

[ The (4) Friends That Took Out Got You Extremely Drunk! ]

[ You Drank More That Night Than You  Ever Did Prior ]

[ The Day After Your  Party Was When You Made The Other Promise … No More Drinking ]

[ That Was March 9th, 1996 ]

[ So You Are (2) For (2) & You Are Proud Of It ]

[ Whenever You Drank You Never Got Sick Or Had Any Sort Of Hangover ]

[ More Than A Few People Thought You Were Lucky ]

[ You Did Consider Yourself Lucky ]

[ Because Later In Life … ]

[ You Found Out The Truth On Why Your Biological Father Put A Gun To His Girlfriends Head Than Shot Himself In Front Of You & Your Sister In (1966) … They Were Really Drunk & Were Arguing ]

[ Then Your Only Sister Dropped Out Of High School, Started Drinking & Doing Drugs After She Ran Away ]

[ The Last Thing You Ever Knew About Her Was She Was Homeless, Living On The Streets Of S.E. Portland ]

[ She Is Most Likely Dead & That Was Over (15yrs) Ago ]

[ Your Only Brother Went Out On The Town While Living In Las Vegas With His Daughter ]

[ He Went To Sleep & Never Woke Up ]

[ (3) Out Of (3) Family Members Are Gone Because Of Alcohol & Drug Abuse Problems ]

[ You Miss Your Brother The Most! ]

[ Drinking & Drugs Was So Intertwined In Your Families DNA! ]

[ Yes, You Consider Yourself Lucky ]

[ You Don’t Preach To Anyone About Drug &/Or Alcohol Use, Not Even To Your Own Kid ]

[ He Knows All That You’ve Lost & It’s A Choice For Anyone ]

[ Those Are Your (2) Best Promises To Yourself That You Have Worked Really Hard  To Keep ]
